🐾 Pet System
Cat & dog unlock, feeding, friendship, and the elusive Oak-Oak
Pets in Heartopia are a late-game unlock, but once available they add a genuine daily routine of their own — feeding, walks, and small friendship milestones that unlock new behaviors. They're entirely optional, but the companionship mechanics are worth setting up once you've hit the level requirement.
🔒 The Pet System requires D.G. Level 12 to unlock. Visit Mrs. Joan at the pet shop to purchase a pet.
Pet Unlock
🐱🐶 Cats and Dogs
- Reach D.G. Level 12 to unlock the Pet System
- Visit the Pet Shop to purchase a cat or dog (costs Coins)
- Bring your pet home and place a pet bed and food bowl
- Feed and interact with your pet daily to raise Pet Friendship
- Raise Mrs. Joan's friendship to unlock special coat colors or personalities on limited pets

🌳 Oak-Oak (Oak Spirit)
Oak-Oak is not a regular pet but an extremely rare hidden creature that wanders random locations across town. It may take days or even weeks to encounter one.
- Oak-Oak appears in a different random location each day — no fixed route
- When you spot it, stop moving and approach slowly — it will flee if startled
- The community is still tracking Oak-Oak sightings. Known areas: Amazing Forest and near Onsen Cliff
- Interacting with Oak-Oak grants a mystery reward (random each time)
